Understood.org & Radio Flyer Support Neurodivergence

Understood.org, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families of children with learning and thinking differences, has partnered with Radio Flyer, the iconic ride-on toy company with over a century of history. The goal of this collaboration is to redesign three popular products — the Cyclone, the Stroller Wagon, and the Stroller Trike — with accessibility features that make outdoor play more inclusive for neurodivergent children and those with physical disabilities.

The collaboration between Understood.org x Radio Flyer is rooted in the principle of universal design. It integrates expert-backed research to address specific barriers, resulting in enhanced durability on the Cyclone to extend the lifespan of a cherished toy, a sensory-safe seating configuration on the Stroller Wagon that offers a retreat from overwhelming environments, and a firmer, ergonomically structured seat and adjustable harness on the Stroller Trike to support children who tire more easily during physical activity.
