SWAIA Announces Santa Fe Indian Market Winners

The Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) has announced the winners of the 104th annual Santa Fe Indian Market, with the highest honor — Best of Show — awarded to potter Sergio Lugo of Santa Clara Pueblo for his Floating Melon Bowl.

The Floating Melon Bowl is a coil-built vessel fashioned from hand-dug clay, finished with a mica slip, and polished with stone after being fired outdoors. This top distinction is given to a single piece that emerges as the strongest among the Best of Classification winners across ten juried categories. This year's roster includes exceptional works in jewelry, painting, sculpture, textiles, beadwork, basketry, and youth categories, with special awards recognizing innovation, traditional craftsmanship, and emerging talent in areas such as Hopi carving, lapidary work, and Pueblo pottery.
