Family-Owned Puerto Rican Distilleries

Puerto Rico Distillery Celebrates Its New Facility

Puerto Rico Distillery, a family-owned craft spirits producer based in Maryland, has inaugurated its new production facility within a historic Brunswick building that previously housed various manufacturing enterprises. Simultaneously, the brand also announced the limited release of its premium aged rum, Clandestino Añejo.

The distillery’s relocation to this century-old structure, which also shares space with the Cultura Plenera Cultural Center, transforms the site into a multifaceted venue that encompasses educational tastings, demonstrations of traditional distilling methods, and celebrations of Puerto Rican music and heritage.

The new Clandestino Añejo expression represents a significant milestone for Puerto Rico Distillery, as it marks the first time the company has aged its traditional pitorro — a style of Puerto Rican moonshine rum — in a single bourbon whiskey barrel. The result is a highly exclusive batch of only 218 individually numbered bottles.
