Matic Cues Features Over 70 Languages and is App-Free

Matic is introducing 'Matic Cues,' a natural language and gesture-based control system that enables its home cleaning robot to respond to spoken commands in more than 70 languages without requiring a mobile app.

Through the update, users can address the robot directly and use gestures to identify spills or request that the device follow them. As a result, the functionality is designed to make robotic cleaning more accessible to household members who may not regularly use companion apps. Additionally, Matic Cues builds on existing hardware, using five onboard cameras and on-device computer vision to map homes in 3D, recognize household objects and interpret gestures. No additional cameras, microphones or devices are required.

From a privacy perspective, visual processing occurs directly on the robot rather than in the cloud. Overall, the update reflects a broader movement toward natural language and gesture-based interfaces in consumer robotics for everyday household use.
