TELUS Commits $2 Million to Support Emergency Wildfire Relief

TELUS, a Canadian communications technology company, has committed $2 million to support emergency wildfire relief across British Columbia. In doing so, the brand is effectively mobilizing network connectivity, health services, and humanitarian aid for affected communities, First Nations, and nonprofit organizations.

TELUS technicians work around the clock to maintain and restore critical infrastructure, deploy mobile connectivity solutions, and provide emergency kits with supplies, phones, and charging equipment at evacuation centers. The automatic provision of 50 GB of free wireless data to evacuated postpaid mobility customers and billing credits for home services alleviate financial stress during displacement.

TELUS' emergency wildfire relief initiative supports the urgent needs of individuals and families during a crisis, ensuring they can stay connected to emergency alerts, loved ones, and support services even when commercial power and fixed infrastructure are compromised.

Round Room, a Verizon Authorized Retailer operating under the TCC and Wireless Zone brands, orchestrated a surprise back-to-school initiative called Operation Do Good, during which nearly 3,000 students and teachers across six Indianapolis Public Schools middle schools received new New Balance shoes and socks. The total donation is estimated to be worth over $375,000, with the event disguised as a pep rally and featuring volunteer engagement, small-group activities, and personal fittings.
