AI-Driven Delivery Routing Features

Tractor Supply Introduced AI-Assisted Routing Tools

Tractor Supply introduced AI-assisted routing tools to help scale its in-house last-mile delivery network, the company said at Home Delivery World 2026. After beginning to expand its private fleet in early 2025, the retailer deployed the technology to help territory managers build more efficient delivery routes using AI-generated plans that managers refine and assign.

The rollout shifted route planning from drivers to field leadership, allowing territory managers to operate like a dispatch office while optimizing vehicle utilization. Tractor Supply also used AI-powered insights to give store teams better visibility into delivery status rather than automate inbound customer calls, preserving local customer relationships.

The company now plans to develop AI-generated estimates for stop-level dwell times to account for bulky deliveries and large farm properties. The added predictability will improve scheduling while allowing drivers to focus on customer service, reflecting the broader use of AI to optimize retail logistics and final-mile operations.
