Augmented Reality Travel Murals

Tripadvisor's City Murals Entice People to Sunny San Diego

Tripadvisor and the San Diego Tourism Authority teamed up with The Shipyard to bring immersive, augmented reality travel murals to the United States' three largest cities. People in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago are being enticed to visit San Diego with sunny murals that link to augmented reality filters via QR codes.

These uplifting street art murals painted by local San Diego artists Channin Fulton, Hanna Gundrum and Phoebe Cornog invite people to experience The Sunny Side of Things. Inspired by the art depicted in each mural, the augmented reality filters create a unique and shareable experience for those who are craving a sense of escape.

As part of this program, users can also find San Diego trip planning guides on Tripadvisor.
