The California Cattle Council holds an open-house

The California Cattle Council is hosting an event at the State Capitol in Sacramento on August 4, 2026, to highlight the importance of the school lunch program and the contributions of local beef and dairy producers to student nutrition and academic achievement. The open-house gathering was made possible through the organization's collaboration with the California Beef Council, the Dairy Council of California, the California School Nutrition Association, and the California Department of Food and Agriculture.

The event is titled 'Fueling the Future: Nutrition, Sustainability and Student Success' and it will allow provide lawmakers and their staff with the opportunity to sample school meal items featuring California-grown beef and dairy, meet the farmers and nutrition professionals behind those meals, explore educational resources on nutrition and sustainability, and learn about the connection between sustainable agriculture, student health, and community resilience.
