Saskatchewan Blue Cross Supports Individuals Aged 50 and Older

Saskatchewan Blue Cross has introduced a new health insurance plan specifically designed to address the evolving needs of individuals aged 50 and older. As such, the organization is offering a highly adaptable solution for retirees navigating the transition from employer-sponsored coverage. This initiative is particularly relevant as approximately 135,000 Saskatchewan residents approach retirement in the next five years.

Saskatchewan Blue Cross' Retiree Plan is said to eliminate common barriers to access by guaranteeing acceptance without medical questionnaires or exclusions for pre-existing conditions. With 36 customizable coverage combinations across three tiers — including Basic, Classic, and Enhanced — policyholders can tailor their benefits to align with both their medical requirements and financial circumstances, with the flexibility to adjust coverage levels over time. Key features include comprehensive prescription drug benefits, extended travel insurance, mental health support, virtual care services, and optional dental coverage.
