Food Banks Mississauga Hosts the Give 30 Fundraising Campaign

Food Banks Mississauga, the largest food security organization in the city, has launched its annual Ramadan fundraising campaign. For this initiative, which is titled the '30 Days of Giving: Ramadan Challenge,' Food Banks Mississauga is partnering with Mayor Carolyn Parrish, Imam Dr. Hamid Slimi of Sayeda Khadija Centre, Islamic Relief Canada as sponsor, and National Zakat Foundation as a monetary matching donor. The campaign will run until March 19, 2026, during the holy month of Ramadan.

The 30 Days of Giving: Ramadan Challenge encourages Muslims in Mississauga to fundraise with their families or mosques or give their Zakat to provide food for neighbours experiencing poverty. As part of the annual Ramadan fundraising campaign, Food Banks Mississauga highlights the story of Muhammad, a college student working two part-time jobs to support himself and his mother ,who receives disability support.
