Pinterest Brought a Phone-Free Experience to the Desert

For the third year, Pinterest had a presence at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and offered a phone-free experience that inspired connection and creativity. Searches for "Coachella outfit ideas" continue to grow and for the 2026 festival season, Pinterest found itself asking, "What if, instead of curating moments for your profile, you made memories for yourself?"

Unlike many festival activations expressly designed to be shared on social media, Pinterest's Coachella experience asks festival-goers to lock their phones away in a stylish Yondr bag so that they can be in the moment and experience joy rather than perform it. Friend groups created custom charms and received styling and beauty touch-ups inspired by popular searches on the platform. Guests also got a printed Joy Guide to personalize with physical artifacts like stickers and postcards.
