Advanced Handheld Spectrophotometers

The color science and technology company X-Rite Pantone has launched the eXact 2 Basic, a handheld spectrophotometer that combines density and L\*a\*b\* color measurement in a standalone device designed for commercial print production. This innovation offers press operators an easy-to-use tool that goes beyond visual inspection and density-only workflows to enable fast, objective color verification.

The handheld spectrophotometer works to reduce reliance on subjective visual judgment and minimize costly reprints or customer rejections due to color mismatch. The device's standalone operation means it does not require complex software setup or extensive training, as well.

X-Rite Pantone will be showcasing its eXact 2 Basic innovation alongside other digital workflow solutions at LOUPE Americas and PRINTING United Expo later in September.
