Walmart And Sam’s Club Pilot Fast Self-Service Eyebot Kiosks

Walmart and Sam’s Club quietly piloted new Eyebot kiosks that deliver rapid vision checks inside select optical centers. The self-service stations, currently being tested at 16 locations across the two retailers, aim to make basic vision tests quicker and more convenient for shoppers. The key differentiator is speed and accessibility, with tests designed to be completed in 15 minutes or less during a regular store visit.

The rollout included about a dozen kiosks inside Walmart Vision Centers and four units inside Sam’s Club optical departments. At Sam’s Club, members could access the tests at no charge, while Walmart locations charged a modest $25 fee. Positioned near existing optical services, the kiosks supplement traditional eye care by handling streamlined vision screenings through an automated interface.

For consumers, these Eyebot kiosks lower the friction of maintaining eye health by pairing short appointment times with everyday shopping trips. On-site access and a low price point support more frequent check-ins, especially for busy or cost-conscious shoppers. As big-box retailers layer in automated health services, these pilots reflect a broader trend toward retail-based diagnostics that merge convenience, affordability, and basic preventive care.
