ClínicBarcelona.org Debuted Two New Accessibility Features
ClínicBarcelona.org, the official website of Hospital Clínic Barcelona-IDIBAPS, has introduced two new accessibility features in May 2026 — synthesized voice reading for health topics and news articles, and semi-automated transcription for videos and podcasts. These new additions build upon 73 corrective accessibility measures implemented in December 2025 that addressed keyboard navigation, semantic code structure, accessible naming, forms, and color contrast across major templates.
ClínicBarcelona.org's audio reading function automatically converts written content — including disease information sheets, test and procedure guides, healthy living resources, and institutional news – into synthesized speech available in Catalan, Spanish, and English. The transcription feature transforms the website's audiovisual library into indexable text using the YouTube API for videos and an assisted workflow for podcasts.
