Silicon Labs Introduced Its Bluetooth Low Energy System-On-Chip

Silicon Labs introduced the BG2B, a Series 2 Bluetooth Low Energy system-on-chip designed for compact, battery-powered IoT devices. The chip uses the company’s lowest-power Bluetooth architecture to support longer battery life while integrating Secure Vault security and advanced Bluetooth Channel Sounding capabilities.

BG2B combines dual 12-bit ADCs, CAN-FD, integrated LED drivers and a dual-output DC-DC power architecture to reduce external components and simplify device design. It also supports advanced Channel Sounding features aligned with Apple and Google specifications, alongside a royalty-free ranging library and shorter sounding step timings designed to reduce energy use. Secure Vault protects device identities, firmware and cryptographic keys, with secure provisioning available through Silicon Labs’ manufacturing services.

For developers, BG2B can reduce bill-of-materials requirements while supporting sensors, asset tags, electronic shelf labels, smart-home devices and vehicle diagnostics with stronger security and longer battery life.
