Barbie Signature Whitney Houston Doll Honors the Singer

Barbie Signature Whitney Houston Doll recreates the singer's look from the 1987 I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) music video. The figure wears a fitted lilac tank dress with colorful pumps and statement earrings, while voluminous curled hair references the video's signature styling. An articulated body, microphone stand, newly sculpted likeness, and certificate of authenticity complete the release. The collectible was designed by Carlyle Nuera, with packaging created by Priscila Bara.

The project marks the first official Barbie created in Houston's likeness and reflects an idea discussed by the singer and her estate more than 20 years ago. Pat Houston, executor of the estate, collaborated with Mattel throughout development, including visits to the company's showroom as the concept progressed. The doll uses Houston's authorized name, image, and likeness through Whit Wave IP.
