Fully Driverless Robotaxi Rollouts
Uber and Baidu Has Brought Apollo Go Robotaxis to Dubai
Uber introduced 'Uber Baidu Apollo Go Dubai,' integrating Baidu's fully autonomous robotaxis into the Uber network for the first time, with New Horizon Luxury Transport handling operations. In parts of Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah, users choosing UberX or Uber Comfort may be paired with a driverless car, or they can select the 'Autonomous' option directly in the app.
The service uses Apollo Go's sixth-generation RT6, a purpose-built electric robotaxi equipped with more than 30 sensors for real-time perception and onboard data processing. Apollo Go has already expanded to 28 cities worldwide, accumulating more than 350 million autonomous kilometers.
As Uber builds what it calls the industry's first hybrid network combining human drivers and autonomous vehicles, this Dubai launch signals that multi-partner AV strategies are becoming central to scaling driverless mobility across new international markets.
