The Center for Human Services Opens Accessibility Resource Center

The Center for Human Services has launched Missouri's first statewide Mobile Sensory & Accessibility Resource Center — a 34-foot travelling unit designed to bring essential accessibility amenities directly to community events across the state, with Google serving as the founding sponsor of this innovative initiative.

The Mobile Sensory & Accessibility Resource Center is equipped with a calming sensory environment and a fully ADA-accessible restroom featuring a universal changing table, which addresses a critical gap for children and adults with disabilities, sensory sensitivities, autism, mobility challenges, or medical needs who have historically been excluded from or struggled to participate in public gatherings such as fairs, festivals, sporting events, and legislative activities.

The mobile center's ability to travel to rural communities, which often lack the infrastructure and resources of urban areas, ensures that accessibility is not limited to major cities but extends to underserved populations throughout the state.
