Close the listing-quality gap against category leaders
1:1
When a listing underperforms, the usual response is to cut the price — often before anyone has checked whether the page itself is losing. This engagement compares your listings against the category leaders attribute by attribute, so you know which one it is.
The process
Define the comparison set
The category leaders are picked by observed rank and review volume on the platform, not by reputation, and locked so the comparison stays stable over time.
Capture the listing attributes
A scraper logs image count, video presence, title structure, keyword coverage, attribute completeness, rating distribution and price for every listing in the set.
Score the gap line by line
Each attribute is scored against the leader distribution, so a listing is shown as behind on a specific dimension rather than merely 'weaker'.
Fix the page before the price
The largest gaps become a prioritised edit list — images, title keywords, missing attributes — shipped in batches so each batch can be read separately.
Re-measure rank and conversion
Rank position and conversion rate are tracked per edited listing against untouched controls, which is what separates a page problem from a price problem.
