Cinematic Watch Campaigns
Shinola Debuts the Runwell Watch Through an Overarching Brand Campaign
Detroit-based design brand Shinola has reintroduced its iconic Runwell watch through its first-ever overarching brand campaign — a cinematic endeavor starring and directed by actor Nicholas Braun.
The initiative seeks to reframe the timepiece as a symbol of reclaiming one's relationship with time. Titled 'The Restaurant,' the campaign explores the quiet pressure to keep up and the act of choosing one's own rhythm. The Runwell watch collection itself has been expanded with three distinct models — the 41mm in a classic black and white colorway, the 37mm Chronograph with a scaled-down yet perfectly proportioned design, and the 36mm Mother-of-Pearl version with gold hands and indexes against a gray dial.
The campaign was developed under the creative direction of Jonathan Bailey and in partnership with GentleForces. It marks a strategic evolution for the company, as it expands its narrative from craftsmanship and product design to a broader cultural conversation about owning one's time in a world defined by urgency and distraction.
