Autonomous Retail Drone Deliveries

Amazon Has Introduced Prime Air Drone Delivery in the U.K.

Amazon launched its Prime Air drone delivery service in the U.K., marking the first deployment of the program outside the U.S. The service operates from Amazon’s Darlington fulfillment center and uses the company’s MK30 drones to deliver eligible orders within 60 minutes.

Prime Air is currently available to customers with a garden, yard or driveway within a 7.5-mile radius of the facility. Eligible items must weigh five pounds or less and fit within the required package size. Customers select pre-identified delivery zones during checkout using satellite mapping and AI, while the drones autonomously navigate to the property, avoid obstacles and drop packages from a safe height.

For consumers, the service adds a faster delivery option for millions of eligible products. The launch also reflects Amazon’s broader investment in autonomous last-mile logistics and expanded drone delivery infrastructure.
