Technology-Driven Healthy Aging Projects

MEDTEQ+ and AGE-WELL Continue the envisAGE Initiative

MEDTEQ+ and AGE-WELL have unveiled the second cohort of their collaborative envisAGE initiative, featuring 20 new technology-driven projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for older adults across Canada. This pan-Canadian program brings together small and medium enterprises, research institutions, healthcare providers, and community organizations to test and refine innovative solutions addressing critical aging-related challenges.

The selected projects span diverse focus areas — from cognitive health support, fall prevention technologies, and AI-powered caregiving tools to medication management systems and social connection platforms. With over $23 million in total funding, including six million from the envisAGE initiative supported by Canada's Strategic Innovation Fund, these projects represent a coordinated national effort to accelerate the commercialization of technologies that promote healthy aging.

The initiative builds on the success of its first cohort, expanding to include additional implementation sites and evaluation centers across six provinces while maintaining a strong emphasis on real-world testing and measurable outcomes.
