Authenticated GNSS

Qualinx Brings Authenticated GNSS to Low-Power IoT Devices

Authenticated GNSS is strengthening the security of connected devices by bringing trusted satellite positioning to low-power applications such as wearables, asset trackers, IoT sensors, and drones. Qualinx's QLX3Gx GNSS receiver integrates Galileo's Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA) directly into its hardware, allowing devices to verify navigation signals without increasing power consumption or processing demands. Combined with the company's ultra-low-power architecture, the chip helps protect against GPS spoofing and signal manipulation while extending battery life for mass-market connected devices.

For device manufacturers, hardware-based authenticated positioning offers a practical way to improve security without increasing product cost or compromising performance. As industries become more reliant on location data for logistics, mobility, and connected services, trusted positioning can reduce operational risks and strengthen confidence in IoT deployments. Embedding security at the chip level also supports longer device lifecycles and creates opportunities for broader adoption of resilient, battery-efficient connected technologies.
