VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1400 Certification is Now Live

The VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1400 certification has been introduced as a new top-level display technology rating that increases the brightness requirement by 40% compared to the previous standard. The certification requires black pixels to stay at 0.0005 nits of brightness or lower with white pixels pumping out 1,400 nits at 10% On Pixel Ratio. This would optimize the visual experience and provide greater performance capabilities for users, especially in professions where visuals are of paramount importance or simply in entrainment scenarios.

The VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1400 certification has been earned by Samsung with its latest OLED display that's achieved with a tandem design, which stacks two panels on top of one another. This enables the two panels to share the workload and brightness, while also increasing overall longevity.
