Minimalist Browser Release
Brave Releases Origin as a Streamlined Browsing Experience
Brave launched Origin, a minimalist version of its browser designed for users who want a streamlined browsing experience focused on core privacy features. The release removes a range of built-in services and tools, retaining Brave Shields for ad and tracker blocking while stripping out features such as Brave Rewards, Wallet, Leo AI, News, Talk, VPN and Tor.
Origin is available as either a standalone download or an upgrade to an existing Brave installation for a one-time fee of $59.99 covering up to 10 devices, while Linux users can access the simplified browser at no cost. The launch follows feedback from some users who felt the browser had become increasingly feature-heavy over time.
For consumers, Origin offers a more streamlined alternative that reduces interface clutter and eliminates the need to manually disable unwanted features. The release reflects growing demand for software experiences that prioritize simplicity, privacy and focus over expanding feature sets.
