Heritage Rye Revival Opportunities

Starka Distillery, a historic Polish rye-based amber spirit produced by SFW Starka in Szczecin, was offered for sale with its brand, intellectual property, operational production facilities and development rights. The opportunity also includes extensive ageing inventory, with more than 50,000 litres matured for at least 33 years and legacy barrels dating back to 1947.

The distillery site received infrastructure upgrades in 2015 and continues to be maintained by experienced engineering, quality assurance and distilling teams. The current owners have identified multiple potential revenue streams tied to the brand and property, alongside redevelopment possibilities involving residential and commercial components. A nearby upgraded rail station also supports future tourism potential.

For consumers, a revived Starka could reintroduce an unusual oak-aged rye spirit that sits between vodka, whisky and traditional herbal styles. The sale reflects growing interest in restoring heritage spirits brands with mature inventory, tourism potential and established production assets.
