Colab-19 Has Built a Cross-shaped Church for Worship During COVID-19

Alhambra Cross is the name of a pop-up church built by Colab-19 in Bogotá, Colombia. The design is hyper-strategic and is intended to allow individuals to practice their faith, without being at tremendous risk of COVID-19. The framework of the temporary church is made from steel used for casting concrete slabs and a roof of corrugated panels. The designers painted the open-sided pop-up church white. In order to facilitate "a more spiritual atmosphere" within the car-park setting without restricting airflow, Colab-19 hung mosquito nets.

The concept execution of the Alhambra Cross pop-up church came after Bogotá's mayor Claudia López imposed safety restrictions over Semana Santa (also known as Holy Week), which is an important date for those practicing Roman Catholicism.

This is an excellent example of one of the many ways individuals are adapting to the conditions of the ongoing pandemic.
