Viltrox's New EVO Pancake-Style Prime Lens is Affordable

Viltrox has introduced the AF 26mm f/2.8 EVO — a new pancake-style prime lens now available for Sony FE and Nikon Z full-frame mirrorless cameras. This launch adds to the company's affordable EVO series.

The AF 26mm f/2.8 EVO model boasts a slim, lightweight design weighing under five ounces. The pancake-style prime lens features an optical construction of eight elements in six groups, including two aspherical lenses and a high-refractive element. Together, these components maintain high image quality with minimal distortion even at the maximum aperture of f/2.8. The lens' autofocus system utilizes a gear-type stepping motor that provides fast and precise subject locking, reportedly capable of tracking moving subjects with confidence. The minimum focusing distance of 7.9 inches, on the other hand, allows for expressive close-up compositions.
