The MEXICO 66 SABOT Updates a Classic Training Shoe with a Backless Design

The MEXICO 66 SABOT is a casual footwear model from Onitsuka Tiger based on the brand’s MEXICO 66 training shoe. The MEXICO 66 SABOT replaces the original heel structure and lacing system with a backless slip-on design intended for everyday wear. The upper uses a coarse mesh construction made from synthetic and natural fibers, creating a lightweight structure with increased airflow for warmer seasons. Signature Onitsuka Tiger stripes appear on both sides of the shoe through contrasting overlays that frame the mesh upper.

The silhouette is available in multiple colorways, including Birch/Peacoat, Beige/Green, Black/Cream, Crystal Pink/Cream, Oatmeal/Habanero, and Cream/Mustard. Inside, the shoe features an OrthoLite sockliner designed to provide cushioning and shock absorption during daily use. A flexible rubber outsole completes the design and maintains the low-profile proportions.
