FAAB Adds Wave 4 and Wave 5 to a Medical Complex

FAAB, a Warsaw-based architecture and design studio, has completed Wave 4 and Wave 5 — the latest additions to the ECR medical complex in Sopot, Poland. These structures are distinguished by a facade inspired by Pierre Carreau's AquaViva seascape photographs and a perforated aluminum panel system featuring the ancient 'Flower of Life' pattern traditionally associated with healing properties.

Located just 400 metres from the Baltic Sea, Wave 4 and Wave 5 house pre- and post-procedure medical-stay rooms, a restaurant, and an extensive rehabilitation centre equipped with advanced technologies, including laser beam therapy, cryotherapy, and hyperbaric chambers that accelerate post-operative wound healing. The wave geometry is most evident in the upper building volumes and sculptural main entrance canopies. The sunlight gliding across the facade highlights its fine divisions, creating a dynamic three-dimensional presence that shifts throughout the day.
