Mclaren and Central Saint Martins Reinterpret Formula 1 Heritage

The McLaren x Central Saint Martins collaboration brings together the Formula 1 team and the University of the Arts London to explore racing heritage through contemporary fashion. Developed with MA Fashion students, the project invited emerging designers to reinterpret McLaren's 63-year history into a collection of 12 runway looks inspired by the team's engineering achievements and the iconic racing uniforms of drivers including James Hunt and Ayrton Senna. Throughout the programme, students attended presentations hosted by McLaren and used Dell Technologies' creative tools to develop concepts that connect motorsport innovation with fashion design.

The collection forms part of McLaren's broader effort to examine the cultural influence of Formula 1 beyond conventional streetwear collaborations. By partnering with Central Saint Martins, the initiative places racing history within an educational design context while showcasing the work of the next generation of fashion designers and material specialists.
