The Marilyn Monroe Barbie Signature Doll Honors the Actor's Centennial

The Marilyn Monroe Barbie Signature Doll commemorates the Hollywood icon's 100th birthday with a design based on her Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend performance in the 1953 film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Developed by Mattel in collaboration with The Estate of Marilyn Monroe LLC, the collectible wears a bright pink satin-inspired gown paired with an oversized bow, matching opera gloves and diamond-inspired jewelry recreating one of Monroe's most recognizable screen costumes. Robert Best and the Barbie design team referenced the original wardrobe to capture its signature silhouette and styling.

The release joins Barbie Signature's lineup of collectible dolls celebrating influential cultural figures and follows earlier Monroe-inspired editions based on films including The Seven Year Itch and How to Marry a Millionaire. Timed to coincide with Monroe's centennial year, the doll highlights a costume that has remained a recurring reference across fashion and popular culture for decades.
