Le Labo’s Incense Collection is Inspired by Kōdō

Le Labo has debuted an Incense Collection that draws upon the ancient Japanese practice of Kōdō, or the Way of Incense. This capsule offers a sensory experience designed to encourage mindfulness and inner stillness through meticulously handcrafted sticks produced at a 12th-generation family-owned workshop in Kyoto.

Le Labo’s Incense Collection features four classic fragrances, each presented in a set of 35 sticks that burn for approximately 25 minutes. These scents range from the aristocratic, smoky leather of SANTAL 26 to ENCENS 9, where frankincense is softened by warm amber and spiced with clove to promote serenity and contemplation. AMBROXYDE 17 offers a more unconventional profile built around a synthetic molecule that replicates the captivating quality of natural ambergris. It blends this ingredient with musks, woods, and jasmine petals for a diffusive and addictive aroma.

The entire collection reflects a deliberate departure from mass-produced home fragrances, emphasizing a ritualistic approach instead.
