LG Electronics Expands Its Manufacturing in Vietnam

LG Electronics has expanded its production capacity for specialized glass powder-based substances by opening a new manufacturing line in Haiphong, Vietnam, which now operates alongside its existing plant in Changwon, South Korea, to form a dual-hub system for these advanced materials. The specific products coming out of this facility are LG PuroTec™, an antimicrobial and antifungal additive, and Easy-Clean Enamel, a ceramic-like coating for metal surfaces. LG Electronics also noted a new line contributing an additional 2,000 tons of annual output to bring the company's total global capacity to 6,500 tons.

PuroTec, when incorporated into plastics, paints, or rubber, actively suppresses the growth of odor-causing microbes and contaminants, meaning that appliances like washing machines, refrigerators, and air conditioners can remain fresher and more hygienic over longer periods without relying on harsh chemical cleaners. Similarly, Easy-Clean Enamel creates a durable, glassy barrier on the interiors of ovens and microwaves, allowing baked-on food and grease to be wiped away with minimal effort while also resisting scratches and discoloration.
