The New Version of the Friend AI Wearable Has a Built-In Speaker

The first Friend AI wearable was introduced in 2024, and in 2026, the company officially introduced a new version of the pendant, complete with an always-on microphone and a built-in speaker to respond to the wearer's questions. Some are turning to AI for reflection, thinking through tough decisions, processing difficult days, or simply sorting out their thoughts in a judgement-free space. For many, it's become a meaningful source of support, a way to feel heard, gain clarity and move through life with more steadiness. Unlike the previous model, which responded to the user via text message, the updated Friend offers more seamless back-and-forth exchanges.

This next-gen wearable companion also features an updated AI model for responding, and a $9.99 monthly memory subscription is required for Friend to hold on to memories longer than 30 days.
