Dedicated RGB-Controlling Hardware
Corsair Announced the 'Commander Duo' for its RGB Products
The CORSAIR Commander Duo is a hybrid lighting and fan controller that supports both PWM ARGB fans and iCUE LINK devices, replacing the earlier Commander Core XT model. The unit ships with a USB data cable, two iCUE LINK bridge connectors, two ribbon-style temperature sensors, and double-sided tape for mounting. A manual switch on the side selects ARGB mode, in which a single SATA power cable and USB connection drive up to six daisy-chained fans per channel for a maximum of twelve fans, or LINK mode, in which an iCUE LINK System Hub is docked to handle power and data through its PCIe power and USB connections.
When set to LINK mode and connected to the iCUE LINK System Hub via the included bridge connector, the Commander Duo relinquishes its own power and data inputs and allows the System Hub to manage all attached devices through iCUE software. The controller’s housing incorporates internal magnets for tool-free installation on a metal chassis, with tape provided for non-magnetic surfaces. The two optional temperature sensors report environmental readings directly into the iCUE interface, enabling users to monitor specific zones such as drive bays or exhaust areas. This unified approach simplifies multi-vendor fan and lighting configurations by consolidating control within a single software platform.
