The Codex XBAND Gives Luxury Watches Smart Capabilities

Luxury automatic and mechanical timepieces continue to gain popularity amongst consumers but are often positioned in direct opposition to the smartwatch, which is something the Codex XBAND has been developed to change.

The accessory works by being affixed onto a traditional watch via a replaceable band to incorporate smartwatch-inspired features onto the analog accessory. The device features biometric sensors inside the clasp to capture a number of health metrics, while also working in more than 40 sport modes. The aftermarket accessory won't distract from the timepiece's design thanks to its strap-mounted function to work with virtually any model of watch.

The Codex XBAND is being launched as part of a Kickstarter campaign and plays to a specific pain point for consumers who are in search of a hybrid watch wearable experience.
