The Champ Libre Association Ran the 20th Edition of Its Festival

The Champ Libre Association has organized the 20th anniversary edition of the Festival des Architectures Vives (FAV) in Montpellier, held from June 9 to 14, 2026. The gathering featured 13 temporary architectural installations within the city's historic private mansions and attracted nearly 18,000 visitors. This set a new attendance record and demonstrated the public's growing engagement with this annual event that transforms heritage spaces through contemporary design.

The Champ Libre Association's 20th edition was organized around the theme of 'Transmission,' which was embodied through the invitation of iconic teams from previous editions to serve as mentors for emerging architects. This, in turn, created a symbolic intergenerational dialogue that reflects the collaborative spirit cultivated over two decades.

All in all, the Champ Libre Association's event offers a unique opportunity to explore Montpellier's architectural treasures.

Micro-Sized Cabin Designs

Large home designs have been the gold standard for decades but are quickly falling out of fashion thanks in part to the tiny home movement, which is seeing new models be designed like the Zook Cabins Juniper.
