AI-Powered Safety Road Bikes
The Canyon Predict Has Cameras, Sensors and Haptic Feedback
The Canyon Predict road bike has been debuted by the brand as a conceptual take on the humble analog bicycle to offer cyclists a glimpse into what could be coming to the consumer market in the near-future.
The bike is constructed with a 3D-printed carbon fiber frame that's outfitted with cameras and radar modules across the front and rear. A handlebar display acts as the main point of contact for the rider, while haptic feedback is used to communicate in a vision-free manner. The bike boasts a microprocessor inside that runs artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to keep an eye out for the rider and will maximize safety by letting them know when danger is afoot.
The Canyon Predict road bike is expected to be debuted at the Eurobike Show in Frankfurt, Germany next week and could go into production in about three years.
