Books-A-Million Partners with the Better Basics Reads Initiative

Books-A-Million has joined the Better Basics Reads initiative, donating $30,000 to support literacy programming for over 14,000 students across the Birmingham, Alabama metropolitan area. As part of a one-day annual volunteer event that mobilizes more than 700 community members to engage with students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, the bookstore chain’s associates read directly to children in classrooms within Birmingham City Schools and several surrounding districts.
