Studio Miti Completes the Athita Pool Villa and Spa

Studio Miti has completed the Athita Pool Villa and Spa in Chiang Saen, Thailand. This project included an expansion of the Athita Hidden Court that integrates climate-responsive timber-brick construction with passive-energy pool villas and a 'Yam Khang' Lanna fire massage spa. Throughout, the firm adopted historic alley morphology in the master plan to maintain public permeability toward the adjacent Athi Ton Kaeo Temple.

Studio Miti's Athita Pool Villa and Spa architecture synthesizes Chiang Saen's cultural lineage and environmental context, navigating both a cold seasonal climate and seismic vulnerabilities through the tectonic honesty of regional timber and brick. These materials historically defined ancient city walls, monastic ruins, and domestic vernacular fabric. The firm also partnered with local artisans to integrate traditional material truth with contemporary concrete-steel engineering.

Micro-Sized Cabin Designs

Large home designs have been the gold standard for decades but are quickly falling out of fashion thanks in part to the tiny home movement, which is seeing new models be designed like the Zook Cabins Juniper.
