Facebook rewards freshness, but brands still need memory.

Same-day Reels signals make speed more valuable, yet durable explanation remains necessary. The operating model should separate response content from evergreen assets.

Facebook's renewed interest in freshness should not turn every brand into a news desk. Speed matters more than before, but speed without memory produces disposable content and weak planning. The better model is two calendars: one for response, one for durable explanation.

Meta's October 2025 update on finding and sharing Reels says recommendation systems now show 50% more creator Reels posted on the same day. It also reports US Facebook video watch time up 20% year over year. Those are Meta-reported figures and the watch-time number is US-specific, so they should not be treated as a global guarantee. They do show that recency has become a visible platform signal.

The wider Facebook interface is also moving toward discovery. Meta's update on creating, discovering and sharing content describes changes to Feed, Search, Reels and navigation that make public content easier to encounter. In that environment, a timely post can travel before a user has a relationship with the page. The risk is that a brand responds quickly to culture but leaves no useful record for a buyer who arrives later.

Socialinsider's benchmark data supplies the constraint: Facebook business pages still face low average engagement, and format results are uneven. A fast post that earns a view but no saved argument, no answer and no next step does not compound. It has spent production time without building an asset.

The response calendar should handle signals with a short shelf life: policy changes, platform updates, event moments, creator trends, retail windows and customer questions that matter this week. The evergreen calendar should hold explanations that can be reused: category guides, proof libraries, objection answers, case notes and market definitions. The two calendars should share material, but they should not share the same success metric.

So what

Build a 48-hour response lane and a 90-day knowledge lane. The first is measured by whether the brand enters the current conversation with evidence and judgment. The second is measured by whether the content keeps answering buyer questions after the moment has passed. Facebook may reward freshness, but a business needs content memory.
